Pacific High School | Driver Education

Pacific High School is a California private high school that satisfies the California Education Code requirements for students to obtain a high school diploma or to take additional classes not available from your local high school. Designed for all high school students (freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors) in public and private high schools in Sacramento, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Long Beach, Orange County, San Diego, Riverside and all other areas of California. Meets the California Education Code Requirements

English Department:

English 1A
9th Grade First Semester

This course will teach the student the skills of interpersonal communication through written language. Literature is the focus of this class which introduces our students to essays, short stories and novels.

English 1B
9th Grade Second Semester

This course continues the exploration of literature we started in English 1A with more essays, drama, short stories and novels. While reading these literary works, our students practice research skills and the use of reference books, grammar, sentence structure and overall comprehension.

English 2A
10th Grade First Semester

Using a variety of short stories, poetry and novels, our students continue to develop and improve their reading, writing and analytical thinking skills.

English 2B
10th Grade Second Semester

The students continue to expand their development of reading, writing and analytical thinking skills. Literature is used to explore current social issues.




English 3A
11th Grade First Semester

This is a research based literature course that emphasizes literary analysis. Our students learn writing skills and progress through the stages of pre-college writing.

Themes in Literature A
12th Grade First Semester

This course emphasizes advanced grammar and composition presented through both American and British literary works. Advanced writing skills are taught throughout the class.

Themes in Literature B
12th Grade Second Semester

Poetry, prose, plays, novels, short stories and essays are read and analyzed. Students continue to develop their writing proficiency. College vocabulary development is also emphasized.
